not disposed to press my objections,

connected or combined under his command.

There seems to me to be consider-

able prospective advantage to be gained

by recruiting the prison warders from

the ranks of the police, but I shall be

glad to have a further report before I

accept as it stands the suggestion made

in paragraph 181 of the retrenchment

committee's report to the effect that

the superintendent's quarters should be

vacated and converted into quarters for
